Roachmen

Roachmen are demi-humans, belonging to the 'Scum' sub-category. They are considered inferior peoples in most realms. They are more closely related to Sand Warrior Spieroi and Spiderfolk, and less so to Ménuch and Crabmen.

Roachmen have a large folding piece of chitinous armor at their back, and three pairs of legs. Their wings are degenerated, and they cannot fly. They can stand on six, four or two legs, and can hold tools, although they seldom have a need to do so. Their legs end in large talons and most of them possess superhuman strength. A roachman can only be beaten in a straight up fight by dismemberment or a piercing wound through its softer thorax.

Roachmen are kept as physical labourers such as miners or dock workers; they can survive harsh environments, so they can easily find employment with expedition parties, caravans and adventuring groups. They possess a primitive wit very close to basic survival instinct, but their thinking is far from complex. They can form basic sentences, but are unable to learn reading or calculations.

Roachmen reproduce with eggs; a newborn roach-child measures about a feet in length. A fully grown male roachman is about seven feet of body length, and eight or more with its pair of tendrils growing from its head.
